I have seen a few of these up close and personal at Yellowstone. One set charged the car. The second set walked through our campsite there. It was an awakening experience. LOL

wonderful photos - the obvious thing to say is -if they are well looked after and happy -which the photos show they (,are ?) then -they are at least protected - but i have to agree with jewel - some of the animals are along way from home ,and its hence sad that they cant reside in their natural habitat safely - so one mans marvellous task(your friends/neigbours) is another mans /countrys disgrace .

Wow, what a menagerie! We used to have a buffalo named Rosie at Bates Woods. She was the sweetest creature. Used to visit her all the time. She was so gentle, we could scratch her under her chin and behind her cheek. I used to love looking into her big brown eyes. I so wanted to bring her home to live with me so I could hang out with her everyday.

Oh! They are all so beautiful! They are obviously well cared for and well adjusted since I see all three kinds of animals lying in a field together and no one is objecting at all.

Looks like a wildlife refuge! I can't believe it is in N. Carolina! Somewhere like S. Dakota I could easily believe.

So is it a wildlife refuge or a game ranch?

It's a cross between both actually. The owner has several hundred acres of grazing land, not really open to the public, but people come by there all the time.
